San Antonio’s Founding Heritage Presents

San Antonio Founders Day

October 20, 2018

A tribute to all who shaped our heritage

Our Mission

Our Mission: To honor the more than 20 cultural groups and outstanding individuals who shaped our San Antonio heritage and to stimulate interest in reading and learning about our history and heritage in the context of the history of Texas, the nation and the world.

San Antonio Founders DayTM is also an enduring, broad-based information and awareness effort that aims to expand our community’s knowledge and appreciation of our nearly 300-year history and heritage.  Our mission encompasses a year-round program dedicated to helping raise San Antonio’s national ranking for History, Reading, the Arts, and the multiple Cultures of this city.  The free event is always focused on the children of Texas.
The late San Antonio Historian, Frank W. Jennings, was the Founder of the annual Founders Day.  His organizational efforts drew in the many volunteers and those early efforts resulted in the celebrations you can enjoy each year. Today, non-profit San Antonio’s Founding Heritage lovingly manages the yearly cultural and historical festival.
